Linda Hume from Brumfield Elementary and April Stanyer from Mary Walter Elementary will attend the American Library Association’s 2025 Annual Conference in Philadelphia in June. This is Linda's story.

The Fauquier Education Foundation celebrates the diverse history of Fauquier County Public Schools, including Taylor High School, which served all Black students in the county between 1952-1969. The stories of Taylor High School live on through the perspective of Taylor Legacy Commission members like Earsaline Anderson (née Grant, Taylor ‘64). This is her thread of an indelible tapestry.

What's your favorite book? Launched in 2019, My First Book Club supports at-risk preschool students by improving literacy skills, promoting peer interaction, and fostering a love of reading. Students receive a new book each month for classroom and home reading, along with a small bookshelf to build their first personal library. For many children, these are the first new books they have ever owned. Thank you for supporting the 25th annual Superintendent's Scramble Golf Tournament, the Fauquier Education Foundation's primary annual fundraiser. This event brings together local businesses and avid golfers for a day on a beautiful 18-hole golf course, on-course food and beverages, prizes, and lots of fun. Net proceeds from this golf tournament benefit the Foundation's Educator Professional Development grants. Since the Foundation’s inception, these grants have provided financial assistance to dedicated Fauquier County Public Schools teachers, educators, and administrators to participate in professional development opportunities that directly impact classroom teaching or enhance a school’s overall learning environment. Funding supports participation in conferences, seminars, research projects, cultural programs, and summer institutes.
